More Americans are traveling this year than last year. Please remember to check the weather before you take your road trip and pack a backup map just in case your navigation in your car defaults or if you drive out of range of cell phone towers. Most importantly, please pack your “Patience” and take your time. Tell yourself before you get on the road to expect a lot of other travelers to be on the road with you. Therefore, don’t stress!
According to Soergel, (2018), Americans are expected to hit the road in record numbers this week as 47 million people across the country travel 50 miles or more as they seek out Fourth of July celebrations. The latest projections from AAA estimate nearly 40 million Americans will be doing at least some of their traveling on Independence Day – an uptick of more than 5 percent over the year.
“This Independence Day will be one for the record books, as more Americans take to the nation’s roads, skies, rails and waterways than ever before,” Bill Sutherland, a senior vice president at AAA’s Travel and Publishing division, said in a statement. “Confident consumers with additional disposable income will look to spend on travel this holiday, building on an already busy summer travel season. “Please designate a driver, if you plan to drink. Drive safe and enjoy your vacation.
Happy 4th of July!
