In your financial journey, you might feel like you are drowning and that there is no help. I encourage you to refuse to drown. Help is always in clear view; take the time to survey your surroundings. Keep focused even when it seems like undercurrents are pulling you down. The busyness of life with the children’s schedule, ministry, college studies, work, job losses, loss of a loved one, or sickness could take priority over financial matters.
Here are some financial survival tips that could be helpful:
Don’t be afraid to ask for help – Envision yourself in the ocean being circled by sharks and someone throwing out a survival ring to rescue you. What would you do? Probably take hold of the ring, correct? Lay aside your pride and, above all, forget what others think and ask for help.
Refuse to go under – Decide against merely existing in your current situation, allowing your finances to weigh you down. If you do not see a way out, create one. Rise and push back! Cause change to happen.
Participate in your own rescue – You must do something to save yourself. If what you are doing is not working, do something different. I suggest that you consult with a trusted financial counselor or adviser. Make sure that you have a posture of being coachable and teachable.
Get in the boat – Get focused, take hold of the survival ring and get in the boat. In short, implement a strategy to survive! Surround yourself with positive people who will encourage you to survive and go in the direction you aspire to go. Make the necessary changes, using the advice of your counsel that will enable you to manage your finances well. Remember, refuse to drown! Be determined to survive!

Christine Roebuck, CEO
Renee thank you for allowing your story to be shared. In your words, “Anything that will encourage and help others”.
Now, let me say this—–WoW, WoW and more WoW! Christine, thank you sooo much for all of your help. Your encouragement has been dear to me especially when I think of the place of panic and sheer exhaustion that I was at in trying to figure all of this out. God’s timing is utterly amazing – talk about Divine connections (Kingdom Sisters)! God has truly used you. I am so grateful to have more clarity than I had going in. I definitely know that I have work before me, BUT I also know that the Lord knows my heart to be a good steward over my finances. I want to be the lender and not the borrower! I trust that He will see me through.
I appreciate the time and energy that you have spent on my behalf. It shall not be in vain! I will continue to find places to slim down even more and I will make strides towards implementing the goals that you have recommended.
Your ministry is a blessing and a much needed resource. I will keep you posted on my progress.
Much love to you.
Renee
